Friday, June 10th- Cam Newton held his 2nd Annual 'Kick It with Cam'; and of course Cam Newton invited a super bowl winning quarterback to his event. When interviewing a super bowl winning quarterback, what do you ask him? Questions about accuracy.

Question: How do you maintain accuracy as a quarterback?

Answer: So much of accuracy comes from your lower body, legs and how you engage in your throw. I always tell young guys I teach about accuracy and building their game. I always start with your feet and the legs. Once you can engage that it makes everything easier. Everybody thinks it’s about how you release but so much of it comes being able to engage lower body and throw with your legs and not your arm.

Question:

What brought you all the way to North Carolina from Arizona?

Answer:

Cam got me out here. Knowing that he is a young guy and gets it and understands that there are bigger things than winning Super Bowls although that’s what he is a after and we were all after. There is a huge platform he has been given, and I think he does a tremendous job with that...and we see it all year long, and when you get an opportunity to come out and support that- you jump on a plane and come out!

Question:

What kind of encouragement can you provide children who are discouraged or don’t have access to opportunities.

Answer:

Along the way you have a lot people that tell you that you can’t and you won’t, and that becomes the air that’s around you. Sometimes it’s within your family, sometimes it’s your teacher, sometimes it’s your coaches, or sometimes it’s just people on the outside, and I had that too; and so did most of the guys here. They had to overcome the perception that everybody else had, or whatever everybody else was telling them. That’s the greatest message for these young kids; is that they can do what they want to do no matter how many people tell them that they can’t. The biggest thing for me is recognizing that along the way you have to overcome the negativity no matter your circumstances. You can do what you put your mind to. Keep finding people that support you, and that don’t detract from what you do! Find people that are positive and tell you that you can do it. There are too many voices out there, and too much noise telling ALL of us no matter what our upbringing or where we come from that we can’t do it...I was told a million times I couldn’t. Keep believing and finding those people that will encourage you in the right direction, the sky is the limit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
